Wow, it's taken me so long to add this video. I really should have done it after last weeks poll results but I kept forgetting that I wanted to do it. I also need to add the "Say You'll Be There" video because that was also a poll winner but we'll get to that soon.
First a bit about this video and song. As we all know this song was the single that they released to help promote the Spice World Movie and as such shows each of the Girls in a different movie genre scenario. Melanie B in a war/action setting, Emma in a poltergeist omage scenario, Melanie C in a Martial Arts arena, Geri as a glamazon classic film deity, and Victoria as a Catwoman-esque villainess planning on destroying the world.
The song was the second release from the "Spice World" album, their sixth consecutive # 1 single and second Christmas # 1. I've read that the video caused a bit of controversy because of a floating vibrator in the background of one of Emma's scenes. I never even noticed that until I read about it, it's at about the 2:32 mark.
Critics look for anything don't they?
"Well, that's her own fault."
The Girls discuss the third album and Melanie C's reluctance to make it. As well as the ultimate end of the Group and we get a look at the first reactions of all five meeting up again on the day of the reunion announcement. The greatest moment of the entire show.
Alright you lot. The new documentary by the Girls called "Giving You Everything" airs tonight in Canada on CTV starting at 9:30pm, but the lucky fans in Australia have already seen the hour long special and have uploaded it to Youtube so I'm adding it now for those who can't wait a few more hours. The Girls talk about everything from the very beginning of their performance lives in college, their auditions for the original Girl Group, all the way to Geri leaving, splitting up for good and reuniting this year.
It's seems really honest and I'm so happy with it. Enjoy.
Is Melanie C feeling broody? What with travelling around with the Girls and the 7 kids they have among them, Melanie has hinted that she would like to settle down in the next few years with her longtime boyfriend Tom Starr and have a baby of her own.
"I want to be a mum in the next few years. But it hasn’t been the right time yet. I am enjoying the other girls’ children. They are really lovely kids, from the little babies, to Phoenix and Brooklyn. And I can give them back at the end of the day. They are lovely and I’ll have me own one day."
Spending the past few years developing her solo career in Europe and running her own record label has taken up much of her time and her four friends believe that Melanie never really gets the full recognition she deserves. Though the other Girls have had their own amount of solo success in the music industry, none of them have toured as extensively as Melanie nor have they put their energies into promoting themselves as well as she has.
Victoria has said, "I look at Melanie C, how hard she works, how good her solo material is - and how she is treated. It is not a nice industry."
One of Melanie's reason's for doing this tour (aside from getting to enjoy time with the Girls again), is so after they give a proper farewell, people will stop associating her with the Spice name and recognize her more as a solo artist and appreciate her own music.
Geri added, "She has got that Chrissie Hynde thing going on."
I wonder what Melanie would call her child?
This was clearly a no brainer lol. Hope you are all enjoying the Christmas Season (despite the weather) and I hope you have all got your shopping done. The results are in from this weeks poll, the question was which single from the "Spice World" album has the best music video to accompany it? You only had four choices to choose from in this poll, the results in order of most voted for are....
This video will probably not be available by the time anyone gets around to watching it but I'm required to try and post it. This is a sneak peek into the new Documentary made by the Girls, it's really just a combination of a few small clips.
I first heard that it was going to be airing on CTV December 17th in Canada, but now there are rumours that it has been postponed until the 18th or even the 30th. As soon as I find out the correct I will inform you.
There are three parts to this interview. This is the first where Vicki clears up the rumours of her being pregnant and answers a load of questions we've already heard her answer.
Isn't that weird when all interviewer's and journalists always ask the same old questions? Must be so frustrating to repeat yourself that often.
Before their first concert in LA the Spice Girls indulged in a few pre-show interviews. This one, with entertainment news program "Extra" had Victoria giving some womanly advice to interviewer Terri Seymour (whom I love)about her boyfriend Simon Cowell, Emma claiming that she has the quickest costume change and Melanie C laughing that adorable chipmunk-esque laugh.
Here is the Spice Girls performance from the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Although Headlines was cut, this is one fine performance and it almost makes up for that stupid decision (mind you I said almost). With a big group hug at the end their return was cemented.
I love that the Victoria's Secret Angels are all dancing around backstage. I guess it's true....even models have feelings. ; )
"This really is the last one. I've got a show tomorrow."
Here is a live clip of Melanie singing I Turn To You during her solo gig last night.
I guess they're going to continue with these weird prize giveaways. I hope to God they wash those socks.
Let's discuss the confirmed dates first. The following dates have not been added to the official website, but they have been confirmed and have a placement on the official websites of the venues they will be played at. These dates are...
